
The Birth of Jesus (paraphrased from the Bible, Matthew 2:1-11 and Luke 1:26-38 and 2:1-20)

| Once, long ago, an angel came to Mary and said, "You will have a baby boy, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of God." |
|
| And so, when the time came, Mary and Joseph rode on a donkey to the little town of Bethlehem. There was no room for them at the inn, so Jesus was born in a barn. Mary wrapped him in a blanket, and laid him in a manger. |

|
| That night, shepherds were watching their sheep in the fields. Suddenly an angel came to them and said, "I bring you news of great joy! A Savior- Christ the Lord- has been born!" |
|
| The angel was joined by many other angels, singing, "Glory to God in the highest!
|
|
| The shepherds said to each other,
|
|
| Also that night, three wise men from the East saw a bright star. They were filled with joy! They followed the star. The star led them to the baby Jesus. The wise men fell down and worshiped him, and gave him gifts. |
|
| And now, every Christmas, we too, worship Jesus, our Savior, and celebrate His birth! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!
