MY RIDE WITH SANTA
by Emily, age
8
Above the trees, over the roof,
I'm going to help Santa steer!
Between the mountains, under the bridge,
Whoops! Am I too near?
Around a corner, into a cloud,
fly fast you fleet-footed deer!
Under the moon, around a star,
listen can you hear?
Beneath the bells, past the brook,
the night's so cold and clear.
Back down the chimney, and into bed.
Can I help again next year?
CHRISTMAS TO ME
by Meagan, age 10
CHRISTMAS TO ME IS A TIME TO CARE,
AND TIME TO LOVE
AND IT REMINDS ME OF A SWIMMING DOVE,
IT MAKES ME FEEL SO FULL OF LOVE.
This
Christmas
End
a quarrel!!
Make
a friend out
An
enemy. Love a neighbor.
Have
a
big
BLAST!
Ashley, age 12
*The Angel*
She sits proudly, gazing down on me,
Elegantly, sophisticatedly upon the tree,
A shimmering, exquisite, ball-time dress,
Laden with jewels, surely to impress,
A set of eyes, made from clear glass,
Ensuring the slightest touch of class,
Curly, chunky, long, blonde locks,
Wave silently as the Christmas tree rocks,
A dog bounding around, the owner attempting to teach,
Though she stands still as ever, fortunately out of reach,
Here the Angel sits.
Victoria, age 12, England

CHRISTMAS IS LOVE
CHRISTMAS IS PEACE
A TIME FOR FIGHTING AND HATRED TO CEASE. Claire, age 10
Christmas tastes like gingerbreadmen and pumpkin pie.
Christmas looks like many colored lights and snow all over the place.
Christmas smells like many cookies in the oven and ginger candles burning.
Christmas sounds like many carols being sung and music played with love and
care!!
Christmas makes me feel warm and cozy with love inside me!
Haley, age 12

Christmas
It is bells a-jingling, snow falling,
Kids sledding, family calling,
Presents to open, good food to eat,
Toys to play with, and fun you can't beat,
Carolers singing, snowmen to make,
Snow angels, and cookies to bake.
Ramon, age 12
Christmas is a time
for spreading around cheer.
And caroling the rhyme
and stories of reindeer.
Christmas is a place
which we hold in our hearts.
Always feeling the race
of shiny shopping carts.
Christmas is a day
where we can all be happy.
To laugh and sing and play
and never once be snappy.
But Christmas is a spirit
that lives inside my head.
There is no reason to fear it
just sleep well in your bed.
Allison, age 12

Christmas is eternal

December
The snow had fallen all night long
Outside my window a cardinal sang his song
December, December, beautiful December
Skating and sledding when it is snowing
It is very peaceful to hear the wind blowing
December, December, beautiful December
I was out all day and my cheeks were rosy
I hurried inside and got warm and cozy
The cocoa was yummy and very hot
I wonder if I will go out tomorrow or not
December, December, beautiful December.
Amanda, age 10
CHRISTMAS
Lovely lights so beautiful,
Trees so evergreen,
Ornaments glitter brightly,
Christmas Time again!
Maggie, age 10

Secrets under the tree,
Shining so warmly.
Waiting 'til this midnight hour,
Knowing Santa will be here with his magic powers.
Rhyme along the Christmas tune,
Looking deeply into the full moon.
Santa with his reindeers eight,
Washes away all fear and hate.
Listen for the white dove's call,
Happy holidays, and Merry Christmas to all!
Kevin, age 10
Cookies warm from the oven
Hugs from your family
And lots of lovin'
The smell of pine
The heart is merry
A special time
To be happy-very!
Brielle, age 14

Tonight watch
the reindeer fly
Gently through the starry sky
Open presents Christmas morn
All the ribbons laying torn
See the children's faces glow
as the flakes fall snow, snow, snow!
